Awww, I wish you could celebrate now!

Oh yeah so my week from hell got worse. Slightly surprised that's even possible but what you going to do? The person who was visiting left their backpack in my car (I didn't think anything bad would happen like whose first thought is what's the value of this bag you've asked to leave in my car? Not mine) and then when we got back to said car, my window was shattered their bag was missing. I got to call 911 for the first time in my life. Yay. It was such a disaster and now they asked for my insurance info and I'm like well a-I'm not even filing an insurance claim bc while I do have comprehensive coverage my deductible is higher than the cost of a new window so nope. and b-my insurance has nothing to do with your backpack, like that's your renters/homeowners insurance not my car policy and my renters insurance def doesn't cover other people's stuff (why would it?). But hey I got out of having to talk to people today. My PI's like uhhhh yeah you don't have to come in tomorrow, we'll handle it. I'm like okay great. At least that's somebody else's problem. He also helped me tape trash bags over my now shattered window so thanks' bossman. I also got the weirdest email from our program director. like "we'll decide how to proceed" on monday I'm like uhhh I've already decided, I'm replacing my window and never volunteering for this EVER again.

OMG star no! I'm so sorry sweetheart Sometimes I just hate people. I will never understand why people do stuff like that! *tight hugs*

I don't really understand where the weekend went. Like I signed a new lease, I set up the window replacement. Things were accomplished. Nothing really feels particularly real. I'm not convinced I ate. Like I know I ate a breakfast burrito sometime today, and I ate some horrible dish I threw away the leftovers from on Saturday. But I really don't remember eating other than that. I just sort of disconnected a bit. Hopefully I'll check back in after a good nights sleep but I think I may have ruined the potential for that by napping most of today. Which was probably the best thing to do but still it's sure to have thrown off my entire schedule again.

It was a good beginning to the new week. I'm getting reimbursed for the window, my apartment gave us free muffins and one of the previous staff is coming back as the property manager. (almost all of our office staff have turned over in the past couple months and it was freaking me out man) but one of the one's I like is coming back (to be fair I liked them all but I'm still glad that one is coming back)

Good news all around - that's wonderful!!!

It is a week of chaos but I'm doing better with it than usual. I showered, I washed all my dishes. And that's after dinner. Almost every dish in my house is clean and the one that isn't is full of brownies in the oven. I did laundry so I'll have clean underwear. Like I did I whole coalition of self care tasks I should have done a while back. Even though I haven't done any of the homework that's due tomorrow, today is a good day.

Yay for self-care!

My bosses this week have inflicted self care on me. My laptop became officially deceased (we're doing something of an autopsy and depending on why it died may pull some computer necromancy and replace the hard drive since hard drives are fairly cheap) but one of my bosses (the one helping me with the autopsy) gave me an old laptop I can use for at least the rest of the semester so I could stop panicking about how I was possibly going to give my presentation tomorrow (laptop died monday). And then one of my other bosses who is also teaching one of my classes rn had a problem set that was supposed to be due thursday but got pushed to friday and after seeing my laptop woes and watching me cry a bit when I tried to ask questions about the homework and he brought up the presentation (it was just like a curious oh yeah when is that presentation and I was like Friday, that's why this was so upsetting and gestured at the laptop and started crying for a hot second before I managed to get that back under control) after he finished answering the questions he was like "don't worry about it" and I just kind of stared at him and he continued with "turn it in whenever, do it this weekend, have a glass of gin and write some matlab code" and then realizing that probably wouldn't be enough to make me turn stuff in late (I always hate asking for/getting special treatment though realistically he would happily give anyone who needs one an extension I just don't ever feel like I should get one bc I brought this last minute panic on myself by not being more on top of things (I've known about this presentation for months and its my own fault for not working on it last week)) so he was like "you know what I will take 10 points off your homework if you turn it in before this weekend!" that was enough to click my brain over into okay this isn't a priority right now and work on the way more important (but also emotionally scarier presentation). Here's to almost mythically good bosses.

Hello Aleah. How are you?

Doing ok. Had my first choir practice this week and we are singing tomorrow. How are you doing?

I'm good. Really close to wrapping up the last classes of my life which is a mood. I think it's a good one and even if it is a bit weird is not unwelcome. I'm frustrated because the tracking on a package says it was delivered but I don't have it, I was hoping one of my neighbors had gotten it and given a couple days it would show up but that hasn't happened so now I have to call people and hopefully get my money back It should be fine I just hate having things like this happen (regardless of the cause) because I feel like people are going to assume that I'm trying to scam them (probably not true but is something I'd rather not be percieved as)

Ways to tell you might look as trash as you feel. 1. A postdoc offers to do your job for you so you can go home. 2. Yeah pretty much just the first one. Also fun for me right now is that our boss disappeared on us for a couple weeks and we need her input on which of a few alternatives to buy so we haven't ordered anything yet. On the upside I either did a stupid or it's just going to take a couple tries but regardless the thing we need the stuff for just got delayed by a couple days so it could be worse. Flu flu go away come again never.
