Another long awaited upgrade to the site has finally arrived! Thanks to the hard work of Indy, our new programmer, the avatar system is in a much better place. Gone are the days of weird bugs and crashing the site, of constant reloading and refreshing! Here is a list of the improvements we have made.
• The wardrobe no longer refreshes after every change. Be it equipping an item, reordering, deleting, changing the color, etc. It is important to note that you must now save your avatar or changes will be lost should you navigate away from the page mid-design.
• Multiple items now stack. There is a x1 at the end of each item. If you have more of any given item this number will change to reflect how many you own.
• Shops now use the new system, which means no more funky legs sticking out behind your centaur or naga!
• Equip to avatar is now available in the preview shop. Just select the avatar you want the new design added to and the button does the rest. Do note, that doing so will remove all items equipped to the designated avatar and will replace them with the equipment list from the preview design.
• You can now search whatever shop you are currently in!
• There is a Buy button now in every shop that will automatically purchase any unowned items in the equipment list but only from the shop you are currently in.
• Items such as dresses and skirts that have two pieces (a front and back) will now show two items in the equipment list. Removing one layer will remove both. This allows for back items to be sorted more freely.
In addition to sprucing up the avatar feature, we have also done some work on the back end. Since Indy was able to update our version of PHP (and then slogged through a whole heap of errors the poor fella) we were able to change hosts. Our new host is much more reliable and comes with features that our previous host did not. The most important feature being that our site is now more secure as we have SSL encryption. To take full advantage of this, simply be sure that you are visiting Faenaria with https://www.faenaria.com instead of using the http - basically make sure to add the s!
We have one more feature we've snuck into this release - the ability to mention users in posts! Simply write out @username and post. It will send one notification to each user mentioned in a post (even if they are mentioned multiple times) along with a link to the post. Users who are mentioned will have a link to their profile in the forum. If you edit a post only newly mentioned users are notified (users who weren't mentioned in the previous version of the post). It also will only notify users who have permission to view that forum.
We hope you love these wonderful changes as much as we do. Stay tuned, we have a lot of other great things in the works for the future of Faenaria!

Seems right now the notification number doesn't increase if you get a ping, but it does update the page. Once Lucy is on again I'm sure she will let Indy know! ^^
