Howdy folks! Sorry for the silence over the last few days, my personal life became unexpectedly complicated by a brief hospital stay. I'm doing fine now and was able to go home yesterday evening, but it unfortunately messed up all my weekend plans (stupid body, how dare!). But, I'm back on track today, and have something exciting to show you all!

@Kiwiana I'm fine, I promise! It wasn't life threatening. I honestly feel like they didn't really need to hospitalize me. I spent most of my stay waiting around for people to figure out what the heck they wanted to do (while getting charged to sit there yay...) Finally got sent home with appropriate meds and told to follow up with the specialist. So, like I said, all is good now!

@Flederfalle I was admitted to the hospital, so I had my own room and a bed. Here at least, you get charged a lot of money for every day that you're in the hospital. The one night I was in there will probably mean I owe in the thousands. Our health system is really screwed up.

It really is. In a country full of just-temporarily-inconvenienced-selfmade-millionairs (as seen by the few actual millionairs), this "health care" thing has to be the single biggest disaster ...

The insurances aren't making the prices though, do they?
You can call me a communist, but I do think health care should be state financed, by tax payers, that is. And that includes taxes paid by the wealthy people, too.
