Hiya my wonderful Faenarians!
I hope you all are having a wonderful summer! Mine has been a summer, nothing spectacular has happened or anything to note, and it's nearly over! At least as far as my summer break is concerned, there are lots of hot weather to be had still! Anywho...
This update has been long time coming! It's one that I've been wanting for so long!!! First off, I'm going to thank Distoria for the basis of this whole update. Without what she did, there would be no update!
Secondly, I need to thank my savior in coding help, Cataluna! She's amazing because nearly everything I asked of her she got done in very little time!
Distoria added the status updates and replies to our profile page ages ago, along with being able to follow/unfollow someone. It wasn't quite what I had had in mind when she was finished, so I started messing around with it. Then I completely forgot about it for... many months. Then Rhowyn went to post on someone's profile and instead of posting on their profile it posted on her own as a status update (she wasn't aware I hadn't finished and got it working properly). That got me back into it, trying to fix it, making it how we had imagined in the first place! So, for the past week or so I've been working on and off on the profile to get it how I wanted. I got to a few places that I just couldn't figure out, so I asked Cataluna to help, and she was able to help today and get it ALL fixed up! I went back in to make it all pretty cuz she's coding not making it look pretty!
The break down for credit:
Distoria - wrote the main part, status updates and replies, as well as following/unfollowing.
Cataluna - made it so we could delete stuff on our own profiles and the friends list.
Me? I did all the tweaking of things to make it pretty, added commenting, and being able to ping from the profile page.
To sum it up, you can now post a status update on your profile. Other people who are following you can get that notification of your status update, and come to your page and respond to it. They can also post on your profile and comment on anything outside the status updates! There is a button under the avatar on the left that allows you to follow or unfollow someone. When you follow them, you will get their updates. Them following you will give them your status updates, but you will not get theirs unless you follow them as well. There is also a link under avatar that says Following: # | Followers: #, if you click that, it shows you who that person is friends with (following / being followed by).
So, go forth and make some friends!
