Welcome, Faenarians, to our monthly avatar contest!

We've decided to call the contest FAD, but we hope it becomes much more than that! It may change a bit from month to month (or maybe sooner, who knows what interest we may get) just like fads do, but hey, it's boring being the same all the time, right? Anyway, I hope this is something you all will enjoy just like we will seeing all your creativity.

• Follow all TOS and site rules.
• Submit avatar designs using our Fae Avatars (for more detail on the FA, read the FAQ)
• Please, make a new post if you add more entries and I have updated, I don't want to miss any entries.
• You can only join from your main account, no mules or ninjas.
• There is a maximum of 5 avatar entries per person!
• Avatars must fit the current month's theme, if it doesn't, it won't count.
• No CYO items (custom items you made or were made for you by a site artist), please.
• Entries will be accepted from now until December 26th @ 5:00PM FaeTime. (that's the time on the clock in the bar at the top).
• Winner will be announced on January 1st!
• Have fun!


• You do not need to own the items to join, just use the Market dressing system.
We do know, however, that centaur doesn't work properly in this system and will not count against you if that is something you use.
• Please, host your images on imgur.com or another site that allows you to post an image on another site.
• Staff, and the previous winner will be judging this avatar contest.
• If you win, you can not participate in the following month's contest.


First place gets:
• 25,000 WS.
• 10 DS.
• FA Shirt "decal" that says "FAD Winner (month) 2020"
• The opportunity to judge the following contest along with the staff.
• Have their winning avatar placed on the main page until the following month.

Participants get:
• 2,000 WS.

IF we get enough interest, we'll give a runner up prize... and maybe more!

In some places, there's a tradition during New Year's eve/night called cheese fondue, to have molten cheese in a big pot and some bread on a stick, and the task is to cover the bread in cheese without losing it in the pot It has even been mentioned in Asterix and Obelix!
"Punishments" for losing vary depending on your company, of course. It may range from drinking games to what's been described in Asterix and Obelix.
Anyway, looks like I just lost a piece! It may not have been the first piece I lost ...

You're just supposed to create an avatar. Whatever inspires you when you think about "New Year" should work - I just like explaining my thought processes

I maaaaaade one! Here is the personification of New Years, all decked out in gold, silver and metallic hues to symbolize the confetti and fireworks. She's also holding a whip to help people get in gear with their New Years Resolutions...a lot of good that will do though after the first week! And then you can't forget the dance floor and people staying up until midnight for the countdown.

As Flederfalle said, just an avatar that makes you think of New Years. No other info needed. It's meant to just give you a bit of direction. You may think of parties, fancy parties, or just hanging out with friends at home in comfy clothes. It's whatever you think of for the time of year! We love seeing all the creativity! ^^

This is how I feel about the new year - very ghostly/nebulous of what will come since RL isn't the best atm. I refuse to loose hope for positive things happening though, that is what the vaguely visible rainbow colors stand for^^
