This is a tropical species in the same family as dragons and hydras. They are associated with air and water, and it's said they can summon rain. They shed their manes and feathers each year, and these are collected by the locals to make blankets and ornamental objects. They were once worshiped as deities, according to legend, and would be given offerings of food to curry their favor. They are venomous, but also use constriction on their prey. Rarely seen on the ground, the coatl is most commonly seen flying in jungle canopies.

These multi headed dragons are not commonly seen, as they are quite solitary. Each head on a hydra is said to have a different defense; fire, water, poison, etc. Like dragons, they keep treasure hoards. However, these hoards are smaller as each hydra head seems to prefer hoarding different things. If it's a treasure hoard, there will be one pile for gold, one pile for certain colors of gems, etc. It's foolish to attempt to steal from a hydra's hoard, as all the heads will protect each other's hoards and territories.

The tatzelwyrm is commonly found in or near wells. It's unclear whether they're guarding treasures or if wells are just a good place to hide and surprise travelers. Quite mischievous by nature, tatzelwyrms enjoy stealing soft and/or shiny things and knocking things over for no reason. They are commonly seen with nagas and kitsunes, though it's unclear if there's a deeper connection or if it's just because they like pouncing on the beast folks' tails. This species is venomous and has sharp claws, and sometimes uses its tail to lure in birds to prey on. Tatzels are commonly found in very undignified poses when asleep or when they think no one is looking, and follow the rule of "if i fits i sits". They also really like to lay on scrolls and books, preferably while someone is in the midst of reading or writing said items. The more important those items are, the more likely it is that the tatzelwyrm will fall asleep on top of them.

As the days grow shorter and the leaves turn, the harvest ponies become more active. They are commonly seen along with their herds around farms. This can be a blessing or a curse depending on how well the crops have done. Harvest ponies help gather, but they will also commonly sample each year's harvest. These ponies have wild magic (as well as other benefits) and it is said that if the harvest is poor, they will increase the fertility of the soil and can even cause crops to ripen earlier, before the first snow hits. But if the harvest is good, they produce more foals who will also want to sample the crops. It's a delicate balance.

Harvest Ponies thrive as the Autumn chill hits the air of Faenaria every year. They know it's their time to shine as crops mature and ripen. Their long hair near their hoofs not only is stylish, but helps brush dirt off their hooves as they walk. Their special harnesses for carrying the bounty of the harvest are crafted out of some of the finest leathers in all the realms, as they need to last through the whole season. During the rest of the year, many a Harvest Pony prefer hobbies like baking and flower arranging. There was one who preferred cliff jumping, though. He enjoyed the thrill.

The holly unicorns are unusual in that they have their foals on the shortest day of the year. The herds and their foals are commonly seen in towns, and it's said that giving this species gifts of some kind causes the yearlings to offer a blessing of prosperity the next year. Most commonly winter berries or sugar cubes, but it's said the unicorns are unusual in that they can also eat holly and mistletoe; in fact holly is a major part of their diet, hence the name. They also eat pine needles and bark, and many villagers will decorate the local pine trees in the hopes of attracting more of these unicorns to increase the likelihood of a yearling blessing their village next year.

The summer unicorns have their foals on the summer solstice. This species tends to frequent shorelines and play in ocean waves. Legend has it that the first summer unicorn was born when the summer sun touched the whitecaps of the sea. Summer unicorns often help beachcombers in exchange for pretty shells, seaweed, etc. Those who rely on the sea traditionally leave a portion of the treasures they find for the unicorns in hopes of getting their blessings; this takes the form of fair winds and calm seas, at least according to the legends.
