@Flederfalle Thank you!
I didn't sleep much again last night. A stray cat is now living under my house and it meow's all the time. Tomorrow I am going to try and lure it out. If it's the black one it will run from me (As it always does) If not and it comes I may have a new cat...
The problem with it living under there is that (I think) it used to 'visit' my cat through the flooring and now it keeps meowing and calling for her.
It was calling again tonight. It really creepy knowing my cat is gone but still hearing a meowing when it gets quiet in here.

@weezee Thank you! They will, soon I hope. It's just been an awful month for a lot of us.
Well I solved the mystery of the cat. It was my cats sister cat. She was under the house, under the spot in the floor where my cat lay dieing and was offering comfort to her. She came two nights following my cats death but she didn't come back last night.
What a good sister cat, to try to help.
My son came in yesterday for a quick visit with me. Since he had to relocate and it is a super long commute we decided to hold Christmas until the 26th. The 25 is his day off and he will spend it with his wife's family while I have to work. Then the 26 we all work but he will be in town and his wife will be in town so he won't have to drive the highway more than once and he'll go home with a full belly.
It works.

I hope this new year brings wonderful things to you, your family, and your community. Y'all have been through so much! How are you doing now, @Giggler?

Giggler
Comes in and waves at everyone.
So sorry I have been gone so long. I lost the link to this place and then forgot all about it. If Weezee hadn't posted in uc/uf on fb I wouldn't have found it again.
Tell me everything? Please? What's new with everyone? How are things going? What's new around here? What did I miss?
And should I bring the Grinch back for Halloween?
Hope to hear from you all soon

YAY! I'm SO HAPPY you made it back. You have been missed!
Hmm, not sure what's new here or in life since you left, the years melt together!
I don't know, did we have pets when you left? Like not the ones for you the avatar, actual pets? If so, I think the site pets are probably at least new. :3 I know we didn't have the stuff on the profile, that's rather new! If you want specifics, the news forum is your best bet on what has come since you left.
I've been doing Halloween events the past few years where we make lots of stuff and give it to those that participate, then we put it in the shop for those who didn't can buy. It hasn't been a bad turn out! We got lots coming this year! I'm actually not BEHIND in getting ready! LOL Now lets just hope I can continue so we are ready in time!

Hi Weezee.
the pets sound newer. I think they were just starting when I drifted away. I checked them out from work and drooled
I will go check out the news forum. I am just being lazy and sometimes 'asking' is quicker then 'finding'
I can't wait to see Halloween stuff. I will try to participate where I can

Yes, usually it is faster to ask than to find, but as I'm not sure when you left I can't be sure what is all new since then.
I told you the main things
I'm excited for Halloween. Not sure of exactly what we're going to do to give items/pets away, but we'll figure out something.

I scrolled up. xD It looks like I left in Dec. of 2020 lol.
I am liking the little tabs under the label. The 'Recent Posts' is fast becoming my favorite
Halloween is going to be super fun this year. For me at least. I ordered 25lbs of candy and a ton of toys. We make little gift bags to give out at work.
I ordered me an elf outfit to wear. (really hope this one fits, the last one didn't
)
So todays mishap involved my nerves. One of my jobs today was to answer the 911 phone. And the first thing you learn in training is to 'never assume'.
You can never assume the call isn't real. As soon as you answer every call is real until proven otherwise. So even when the same number calls 20 times in a row you have to answer it as if it is a real call. Cause you just never know.
So today...?
GCI was testing the 911 phone from a new location.
They would call 6 or 7 times in a row and ask information. Did your map auto populate? is the phone number showing? Did you get Lattitude and Longitude?
Then they would move to a new location and do the same thing.
3 sets of 6 to 7 calls for a total of between 18 to 20 calls.
It took an hour and a half with anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes between each call, when he changed location there was a pause of 10 to 20 minutes.
And every time you have to answer as if it's real cause you don't know if the poor tec. fell off his ladder, I mean it could happen right?
And every time the 911 rings my heart rate jumps from 78 to 100 or 110. Every blasted time.
My nerves are shot... and it was only a series of test calls.
How was your day?

Oh, wow! I didn't realize it was almost 4 years ago! I knew it was a few years, but not that long. O.O
Tabs under the label? Oh yes, that page is wonderful!
I was hoping someone found it helpful!
Oh my! That sounds like a LOT of candy. LOL We give a little to our kiddos on the bus, but I don't give out for trick or treating. Our doggos would go nuts with all the people coming to the door if we did.
O.O That would have my nerves shot too! That is definitely something I couldn't do. I watch the tv shows and am just like omg, that's so scary when all you can do is talk and you really can't help. I mean, you can send people, but if something is happening RIGHT NOW.... scary. LOL
My day, well, it has been pretty decent. Got our new front door installed FINALLY. Got to buy some white paint to fix up the trim that was scraped during install, but other than that... LOOVE!

Yeah 4 years seems like so very long. I love reading through the new lore I missed
it's great.
We had over 80 kids. We give out Glow sticks (so they can be seen) Tatoos, stickers, color books and crayons and of course lots of candy.
They are so very cute in their little costumes. You just want to freeze them all in time
It's funny working my job. You think you can't do it. You are scared every time the phone rings. You don't want to answer it and know you must.
But there is so much you can do with 'just a phone.' You can calm them down, help them hang on, figure out safety for them, give first aide and cpr instructions,
you can help them help you while sending help. And those rare moments when someone comes, weeks, months, even years after and says 'you are the reason I am alive today. You saved my life and got me help.' Makes all the stress worth it. One of my friends did that recently. 2 years after, she had a fall and refused the ambulance, I talked her into it. Turns out it wasn't a fall it was a stroke and the only reason she lived is cause she listened to me. It took me 10 minutes, to do it but she accepted finally, and we all saved her.
2 years ago and she just told me about what really happened about a month ago. I never knew about the stroke just the fall. If I help save just one person its all worth it to me
A new front door? Cool. Did you post a picture of it? I bet thats a good feeling, I am always proud when I do home repairs.

I bet it is a wonderful feeling when you can help them, but it's just not something I'd be equipped to do. I'm beyond thankful for those that can do it, and do it well!
Yes! Our old door was.... not put up well, and let in lots of air and it just wasn't good. We have needed a new one for awhile, and finally had enough money to do it. We got the back door last year or maybe the year before.... lol but we got it cuz our roof was messed up from the storms and the insurance paid for all of it! So now we are very secure AND have no air whipping through those places! Should help lots with the heating bill! LOL No, I haven't even taken a picture of the new door yet.
Found out we didn't need to get paint (I thought we didn't but my mom couldn't find the white we had but she found it) so now we just gotta let it dry and maybe a second coat tomorrow.
Also took my car to get it fixed. It was doing lots of wobbles when you drove it for a long time. Come to find out it needed new brakes and rotors on the front. What a pretty penny that was, but gotta have them cuz I need to be able to drive it back and forth to work! I got in it after it was fixed and omg I can sooo tell the difference in ONE time of pushing on the brakes. LOL

Oh nice. New brakes are a necessity especially when you want the vehicle to stop. Glad you got it fixed.
White paint? Is that the trim or the whole door? Sounds fun.

The door is already white. The trim he added is wood color and it REALLY stands out with everything else being white, so the trim.

Giggler
Lol. I bet it's a good feeling having a solid door again

Yeah, the guy that replaced it said he's surprised it just didn't fall in. >_< That's scary to think about. Lol
