There's actually a chicken coop in the backyard. I'm probably going to use it to stockpile branches when I finally deal with all the fallout from the ice storm.

Ice storms are what happens when it rains below freezing temperatures. They do things like tear down power lines and down trees and other fun stuff.

i do know what ice storms are..... where are you that you had ice storms? we had rain most of this past week, and one overnight it was almost cold enough for snow. but wow, that was cold fo you then.

The ice storm was back in February (it was very memorable because we'd just moved in and then lost power for days at a Very Bad Time To Not Have Heat)...it's just taken this long to clean up after it.

we moved in October - from one end of PA to the other!

Just across town, closer to where I work.

yeah, we did that about a year after we got married. we were both working at the same place! our commute went from just over an hour to about 30 minutes. and then almost two months after we did move, hubby was let go - he had a temp job where i'd started also with a temp job, but i was permanent at the time. fun times. feels like about 20 lifetimes ago, with everything that's happened in that time. almost 28 years ago, actually. this October is our 29th anniversary!
