@weezee
definitely! Its always fun seeing how much a color can brighten up a room.

I always wanted to paint like a mural for either my room
or someone elses.

To start off the room was a cream color.... looked kinda yucky almost like the white had gotten dirty. LOL So that's when we painted the brown.... only on the one wall and under the counter (we have a wrap around bar from the kitchen). Then we got sick of the cream all together and wanted to paint the other walls white. Did that over the summer when I was off work... then we had a gallon left so we wanted to do the brown, but it ended up taking 3-4 coats to cover so we had to get another gallon to go down the hall.

Now I want to paint my room white... WHY OH WHY! It's grey-ish purple right now and I love the color, but it's hard to find bed spreads that go with it. :3

You could keep the wall color and go with solid white bed spread. That's what I did. I have teals, blues, and greens all throughout my room. So went with white on the bed.

Hi MoodyB, and welcome.

weezee, you should have started with a primer on those brown walls to hide the color. You might have gotten away with only 2 coats instead of 3. And I found a great spraypaint primer to cover crayon and other stuff that regular paint and primer won't hide.

The trip to Texas was brief, and hot, although not nearly as humid as I expected so it didn't seem like it was 100 every day. Only got to spend 2 days cleaning and fixing up the house since my son had to go back to work and didn't feel right me just hanging out alone. Here's a brief list of what we got done: Fixed the hole in the backyard door to stop the bugs from crawling in, changed all the locks on all the doors, put up shelving along one wall of the garage, shampooed all the carpets and mopped all the floors. We were still changing the water twice for each room even after the third cleaning. (The first time through the water looked like mud. Yuck) Replaced all the smoke alarms and installed CO2 alarms, cleaned all the appliances and got rid of the funky smell from the refrigerator, put down shelf liners in all the cabinets in the kitchen, built a shoe rack by the front door (no shoes allowed in the house. Keeps things so much cleaner) I think that is all. Maybe one or two other things.

What was I most excited about seeing on the drive? The Continental Divide in New Mexico at about 4,500 feet elevation.

@FireLilly
I like to change my bed spread too often to go with solid white, tho I have thought of that before. :3 I'm just saddened when I have to miss out on the pretty purple ones cuz they would look bad in my room. Plus my girls sleep up there... not sure white would actually STAY white long. I have a grey one I like the most besides the white and black one my gma bought me. The black and white one's too big to fit in our washer so it doesn't get used much cuz we have to either take it to my aunts or go to a laundry mat to do it.

@Yeladim
The paint had primer in it.... plus it wouldn't have saved any time giving it 3 coats of white vs 1 of primer and 2 of paint. Still 3 coats. It's all done now, so I don't even care how many coats it took anymore. I love it!

Hi weezee. I was thinking of you last weekend. We live on the corner of a cul-de-sac, so one side of our property is along the cross street. It is currently mostly bare except for 4 mature trees and patchy ice plant because the neighborhood dogs use our side yard as their bathroom. >yuck< So we are starting a project to move the sprinklers and plant a short hedge. Home improvements, such a joy. (We have to make the plantings in November and December, otherwise the summers are too hot and dry and it will kill the new plants unless they are established first.)

So that's what were doing the next 2 months of weekends. How about you?

Well.... I just spent almost $1300 on my car. >_< The back brakes were damn near gone completely... the passenger side WAS gone. The caliper stuck and just wore it completely away. So I needed: Pads, Rotors, Calipers, AND the parking brake was nearly gone so rather than pay $300+ later we just paid for parts for it to be fixed. >_< Also got the tires rotated (free cus I got them there), and alignment. *sigh* And a couple summers ago I got all the front of the car done (but one tie rod which was SUPPOSED to have been fixed but wasn't, so they put that on free too this time) for $2400+... SO I should NOT have anything else needing fixed anytime soon.. I soooo freaking hope. LOL *sigh*

But as far as doing anything.... hmm, not sure we really have anything planned, because it's starting to get cold. I did change out all the hardware on the kitchen and both bathroom cabinets! They were all gold and yucky and now it looks soooo different and I love it!

I have decided I want to paint my bathroom a very light grey rather than white, but that isn't anytime soon... just when we have the extra money.

Glad to hear you car is fixed, especially with cold weather coming. Not having brakes would not be very desirable.

LOL, nope they were bad enough on nice days! I don't generally drive my car when it's real bad out tho. It's rear wheel drive so it's slides even more than a front wheel drive car. I usually drive my mom's all wheel drive. It's also having issues so I need to kinda hurry to get that bill down so she can take hers to get it fixed. xD

I feel bad I haven't been around as much.

I am really really struggling with my mental health at the moment and then issues at home. Also, I work at a CPA office and it's tax season so that also cuts into leisure time or just having any life outside of work at all from about February to the end of April.

I really like your avy though. Has a very earthy feel.

Halloweezee

Aww, no worries! Don't feel bad. Checking in ever so often is good enough!

I have a couple friends dealing with mental health issues too, so I get it. It drives me crazy that I can't do more to help them! I hope things get better for you soon.

My car sprang a leak today. Not 100% sure what it is or how much it will cost, but hoping it's not too expensive to fix. Came out from work this afternoon and found a huge puddle beneath my car. That's never fun to find. *sigh* lol

Thank you! Love yours too, love all the purple...

I love both your avatars, Etherea and weezee!

I'm struggling with depression and it's more severe than it's ever been. But I think I'm figuring out coping mechanisms. Nothing was working before, so I'm glad something is helping now.

I hope you're able to get your car fixed, weezee. And that it doesn't cost too much.

@flutterby
Thank you!

Aww, I'm so sorry. Seems a lot of my friends are having a rough time this year with mental health issues, and I hate that I can't do anything to help them. *sending hugs*

I actually did get my car fixed... nearly $1000 to do so. I swear NOTHING is cheap to fix on my car. *sigh* But I love it and by now it's like nearly brand new under it so... LOL

Hi weezee.
Almost spring. Do you have any projects lined up? We started a hedge along the sidewalk on the side of the house. They're only 1 1/2 feet tall. Couldn't afford the larger ones.

Well, I never got the porch fixed so that's one project and I plan to redo the front flower bed.... make it a non flower bed like the one beside my car that I did last year. However, I'll put flower pots in that for the flowers. Sick of picking weeds every day.

So an update on me. I'm having my first surgery on Monday! Very minor one, excited for it, but also terrified. LOL So I bet you're thinking "Why are you excited to have surgery?!" LOL Well, I have this growth on my face, it's now the size of a quarter. I've had it longer than not, but it was not always this big. It's just grown over the years. :3 I finally went to a Dr. on Monday to see about removing it because it's now big enough that I notice it without a mirror, and I feel the looks and my kids on the bus are curious about it etc etc. I want it gone so I don't have the looks. So I'm excited for that... for it to be gone. Terrified for all the normal reasons. So now you're wondering why it took me so long to go to the Dr about it? Well, for many of those years, I didn't have any kind of insurance and I can't afford to pay for it. Then when I did get it a few years ago, I've been scared it's some kind of skin cancer or something scary and didn't want to take the time cuz I was being lazy. So... when I finally got up the nerve, I made my mom go with me because of that. However, the Dr. said he thinks that it looks like a benign fibroid tumor, but it will be checked after it's removed just to be sure. But I mean, I've had it for like 22 years, I think if it was something bad I would know by now? LOL *shrug* Still was terrified. So I'll now have a scar above my right eye (most likely), but it's so much better than this thing that I have. :3

So, anyway, wish me luck and good vibes, cuz I need it. I'm slowly starting to freak out. LOL

I am also doing my third escape room tomorrow night! I'm sooooo excited about it! We didn't get out of the first one, but we did on the second, so lets hope the third we can get out of! :3

So I didn't let you all know, but we got out of our 3rd escape room too! It was way hard with math problems. LMAO!

I also got my procedure done today! Dr said it went well, it's still numb-ish, a little bit of pain but nothing too bad. :3 Feels sooo weird!

Glad to hear the surgery went well.

Wow, a scar. Should we get you a patch and a parrot too? (just kidding) Yea, about surgeries, they are only minor when they are being done on other people. I had a bit of a growth under the skin on my shoulder. My doctor said it wasn't anything to worry about so I let it grow. Finally I was thinking that it was making my fingers tingle so i had it removed. It was the size of a softball!

Hope you don't hurt too much once the numb wears off.

Thanks, @Yeladim. LOL! I'll take the parrot, gotta wear a patch (tho not over my actual eye but above it) when I got back to work tomorrow because of all the germs from the kiddos. It's doing pretty good, it's itchy already, and doesn't hurt unless it's being touched and even then only a little. Have to clean it 3 times a day so that's why it's being touched no other reason.

Oh my! Softball sized? I'm sure it is what was causing the tingling, surprised it wasn't worse than just tingling at that size. :3 I'm glad you got it removed and you're doing ok!
