Yes, it's so nice that those things are coming down. I wouldn't know how much things were before last summer as that's when I started looking at doing things. LOL
We did get some staining done.

The new boards you can tell the difference when stained, so I need to go back over them, and get the spots between boards and some of the small pieces the roller didn't get, but I'm totally loving it. I'll show another picture when it's finished. Then we'll need to work on staining the rest of the deck!

Daaaammmmnnn that deck tho. Lol. This is how we know we're adults. We get excited about home improvements and appreciate a good patio when we see one. Seriously though, it did turn out really good. Everything looks evenly coated and nice and new. What kind of stain did you use, are you going to seal it as well?

Definitely. I know you said summer was going to be your busy time trying to get things done. Is it getting hot where you live? It really hadn't been to bad where I'm at until the later part of this week and now it's a bit humid and gross out.

Yes, it started getting hot same time here. We've had that smoke or whatever it is in the air, so I haven't been able to do much. It gets hard to breath outside after a little while. I have the back half of the deck left to do, but at least most of it is shaded. If it's hot, we can still do it as we won't get burnt AND it will be cooler in the shade.
This is what we have up there right now, will end up with everything up there so we can do the back but this is the main idea of how it will look when finished and everything in it's place (we have one chair the neighbor is giving us that isn't up there, but that's about it... oh and a bench my mom wants me to make!)
We had a huge wind/storm blow through earlier nearly took me out with one of our chairs! LOL The above picture was before that storm.

Aww, so cute and cozy. I love the lil dragon statue. I love dragons. The gnomes are cute too. Oh, I also like those chair cushions. The whole things looks just looks so inviting, I love it.

Thanks! I actually painted the dragon and the gnomes... the dragon I did first and didn't use the right paint so it looks.... terrible, but the other I used (I hope) the right paint and it should stay for at least a few years!
Well, we had a cookout yesterday and got to enjoy our finished front porch! My uncle absolutely loved it as did the neighbors. I can not wait to get it finished! But it's soooo hot! Dx
And after thinking about it.... I really don't think we need the bench... we'll add the chair the neighbor is giving us and move the rocker so it's in the front across from the other 2 and I think that will be enough. What we had up there yesterday for all the company was kinda crowded.. so I don't think I want it that full.

I did, the gnomes were painted, but they were VERY faded. A friend gave them to me cuz she got them free from someone (probably because of being faded). So I decided to repaint, the dragon was all that silvery color when I bought it, and I thought painting would be cool. It was, but didn't last.
We had hot dogs, hamburgers, corn on the cob, baked beans, potato salad, macaroni salad, mac n cheese, and fruit. It was all really really good. We've had left overs for days. We are finally down to what we bought. lol
It's actually cooled off here the past few days, THANK GOD! I got to FINISH the deck! I'm so excited. It looks great so all that hard work was soooo worth it!

It was a long day. I started at like 1 or 2 in the afternoon and only took about 30 min break when my back started hurting and a 15 min break to eat a snack.

Oh man, yeah, very long day but totally worth it. Everything looks so great! I loled at the dogbutt in the first pic. Sometimes when staining, some parts here and there can get splotchy but man, you did a fantastic job, truly. It really does just look so nice and neat and clean. Looks like you have a brand new deck. Also, I love your swing, and the purple bird feeders, and the hummingbird feeders. Do you get to enjoy watching them often? I love hummingbirds. Spirited lil things. I also love the 3 tier plant holder!

LOL, I can rarely get a pic out on the deck when there isn't a dog in it. Thanks, I really did try. It was splotchy in places before I did that second coat by hand (which is what took sooooo long!) We actually don't have any bird feeders. The purple bottle is just that, it has a light inside but it has long since stopped working. The other purple thing behind the swing is actually a tin man wind chime. But we do see lots of birds, including hummers.We have several hostas that have little purple flowers all along them, and then our clematis with it's purple flowers that draws in the hummers. That 3 tier plant stand is all fake flowers. But it helps with some privacy and being outside it doesn't get as dusty.

Aww, doggos love deck time. Oh, nice, I bet it was pretty lit up when the light worked haha. And I love windchimes. Purple's my favorite color. Yeah, I couldn't tell if the flowers in the stand were fake or not but either way it's really pretty and I can see that giving you a little bit of privacy.

Oh, and welcome back, at least temporarily to me. Work has been crazy busy and by the end of the day I'm just too pooped to do much of anything. I do have one suggestion regarding the rocks. The black trash bags will disintegrate after a while. You may want to look into a landscaping plastic or mesh. Over the winter we cover a large bare patch of ground with trash bags to keep the weeds from growing, and in spring, when we take them off, they are mostly in shreds.
I missed everyone, so just coming by to say "Hi".

Yes, the doggos love outdoor time period... unless it's raining. I have one that is terrified right now cuz it's raining and the other one is like "what's the problem?" The flowers were in a different place earlier cuz it was blocking an unsightly place on our neighbors house that my mom didn't want to look at. But now that her swing is in the back she doesn't have to look at it.
