Ours do too but more so in the fall and winter. They were built for cool and cold weather. They are actually usually outside then more than inside and I have to bribe them to come in on really cold days and nights. They both love the snow so much. Aww, poor baby, afraid of the storm
Sir gets a little nervous if it's really storming like crazy but nothing too bad he just wants to snuggle up more and then he's fine. Lady likes to stand out in the rain and bark at thunder because how dare it be louder than she is. Until lightening gets close and then she says, "No, thank you."

I have one that loves the sun, and will lay in the sun and pant like she's gonna pass out if w e don't get her to come into the shade. *facepalm*
The one can just SMELL the rain in the air and get upset.
I have these natural chews that give her some extra of what she needs to calm her down, but it takes awhile and sometimes it's not enough depending on the storm. I have never had a dog get so upset. She wants to be attached to me, but still even if she's touching me she doesn't calm down. The chews are the only thing that does help some. They like the snow, but only if it's not really cold. Neither like the cold at all.
I assume you have like huskies or cold weather loving type breeds.

Aww lol. I read somewhere that dogs actually love sunbathing because it helps them (just like peoples) absorb more vitamin D. Which in turn helps them with their immune system and mood. Oh yeah, fully convinced the doggos can sense storms and other things coming way before people. I'm glad the chews work! We have some hemp chews for ours that we use around 4th of July b/c they don't like it when the sky is loudly on fire lol and on trips sometimes if they are going to be in the car a while. I actually had to give Lady some this weekend because we were setting up loft beds for our kiddos, doing a lot of moving around and cleaning the rooms out ect. and all of it made her a bit stressed. She's a creature of habit.
Yas, we have Lady who is a Great Pyrenees and Sir who is a Husky.

My girls hate the cold. It's out do the business and back in when it's cold out.
Which is ok with me, means I don't have to stand out too long either. Abby doesn't care about much of anything but food.
Kelbee hates noise, but mind much of anything else.
Sorry for taking so long to reply, got real busy and then started to work and just haven't really done much of anything but work and sleep.
My days are longer this year, which is good for the money, but not for much else.
Takes me a couple weeks to get back into the swing of things.

No worries, it's a busy time of year. Summer ending, kids and people going back to school, holidays coming up. Lost of goings on. Step kiddo goes back to school this week and my son goes back next week. Have a few deadlines coming up the next couple of months at work too so I totally get it. Nice for the pay check but an adjustment none the less. It was so rainy where I'm at this weekend. I slept a good portion of the day Saturday but still feel like I could have slept more. Sometimes it feels like we go through phases that yeah, that's about all we do, work and sleep lol.

This year has started out extra hectic. The routes have been a mess, and finally we're getting into the swing of things. I'm still quite tired, but it's of my own doing at times.
I'm just such a night owl that I get an energy spurt when I SHOULD be going to bed. I actually get 8 full hours a day of work, usually I'd be lucky to get 5 a day, so this is a big change. Maybe I can actually save some money to help fix up the house some more! That would be nice. :3 We have some things I can't do that need done, so it's a lot more money.
I hope the start of the school year has gone ok for you all.

First I wanted to say that LOVE your current avi! It's so well done and amazing!!
That does sound like quite a change and a bit hectic. Definitely good for saving though, yes! I feel you there. There are some things I'd like do around the house outside but I just can't, I'm not strong enough or know how to operate things like the tractor. Hubs has been so behind and swamped at work. I'd do more for him around the yard if I could. We also had some really nice days here weather wise this last week after a week of rain. Feels like it's getting hot again though now.
We have one kiddo that started back yesterday and the other will start Monday. We'll see, just a matter of getting back to the routine.

Thanks! Rhowyn and I were talking about Ursula and mermaids for FA things and I decided to see how good I could make an Ursula with what we already had.
They had our routes a mess. We had kids on the route that didn't go to the school we go to, one of our routes (and it's still that way right now, my driver just finalized the change yesterday, but the office people haven't fixed it) started before the one before it was done. We drop the HS off at 8:20ish and we were supposed to be start picking up the JH at 7:46. You can't be picking up 2 routes at the same time! LOL *facepalm* My driver hadn't even noticed that when she was texting times to the parents!
It happens. Luckily, 3 of our JH kids don't go to the school we are going so that made the route shorter, but we're still late everyday. But there are only 2 Exceptional learner buses going to that school so being late is a normal thing for them. Other than that mess, it's been pretty nice. I love who I work with and love my kiddos!
Oh, for some reason I was thinking they'd both started. LOL whoops!

Well, you did a really good job.
Oh wow, that does sound like a mess of things but it's good that over all you really do love what you do. Always makes things easier to deal with even if their is a little chaos at times.

Yeah, I'm not sure I could deal with the chaos of the first few days if I didn't love it. LOL However it's normally not this bad, this was the worst year for route messes. I'm not sure exactly what/who to blame... but I have suspicions.

Ko-fi Bean

Etherea
Oh? What do you suspect, if I may ask?
This last week was a bit stressful on my end with school stuffs. My son (transgender and we suspect on the autism scale somewhere but the earliest we can get him tested is Dec of 2024!) Attempted to go back to public school. November of last year he had had a break down and did homebound for a little while, then online. We'll he thought he was ready to try to go back and it was very evident he was not so, we're trying to figure out what's going to work best for him. I've reached out to a couple private schools and hoping to hear back.
My stepdaughter's first week back, the week before that, went smooth though so there's that at least. She goes to a private Catholic school. Over all seems like a good school but wouldn't work for my son, we're looking at secular for him and around here that unfortunately means more expensive because it's very limited selections. One of the places we looked at, people put their child's name on the wait list... AT BIRTH. So, not even messing with that one.

My suspicions are too many hands stirring the pot that don't know how to cook properly.
Too many that don't know what the other has already done so it gets half done or over done.
WTF?! Dec 24?! How can there not be something any sooner?! >_< I work with a lot of autistic children, and my bff has children that are autistic. How old is your son?
Yeah, I'm actually not sure we have any private schools that aren't in some religion. I am sure there are, but I haven't heard of any.
I hope you figure it out soon for him.

Ahh, so, lots of communication issues sounds like.
Yup. Our area is really bad off in the mental health department. High demand and not enough resources. Though, it's apparently not just my area either. Hubs has a friend who works for the same company but in a different state and he said they are booked out on autism testing until the end of 2025. Even my son's therapy and psychiatrist are telehealth situations. Therapist he connects with through zoom and the psychiatrist we have to go to a building to sit in a room in front of a large screen tv to visit remotely. It's kind of ridiculous. We've asked for almost a year now to at least get in person therapy sessions and they still don't have anyone available.
My son will be 14 this month actually.
Yeah, the ratio of private schools that are religious vs secular is staggering really. I am really hopefully that the one I've applied to at for him gets back with me because they seem to specialize in assisting children that struggle with disorders that make school harder and on top of that attempt to help them manage hurdles and build confidence and independence.

I've found out more since I said what I thought. While communication is a HUGE issue, that isn't the only one. One of the office staff wanted to change/update the routing program and it totally messed EVERYTHING up. So they had to fix a lot of things that program did. 🤦🏻
So I was talking to my driver/best friend about the whole being tested thing and she's having the same issue with a boy she has guardianship of right now. She can't find one that does the testing for his age. I think he's 13. She HAS found a few and one of them just so happens to have openings in Oct, but his insurance hasn't kicked in yet so she can't grab a spot until it does! So frustrating!

Oh no, I'm sure they had best intentions but still, no good. Have things smoothed out a bit now?
Yeah, the age seems to be a big factor as well. When I told them that kiddo was 14 they were like, "Oh, well... we'll have to look into it, it may be a while." We're on the list though at least now so there is that. Also heard back from the school we had applied it. Kiddo had a tour and then an assessment/observation day and we're all set to get him enrolled and starting classes in Oct!

So, I've now been dealing with what seems to have a been a leak since we moved in. >.> It wasn't one that was continuous, but when you used the sink the lines leaked. It ruined the vanity in the bathroom as well as most of the floor. The vanity is gone as is the horrible floor. The main floor has been replaced, but we're waiting on the top layer? Not sure of actual terminology. My uncle bought me a new vanity, but the countertop has a blue cast to it.... I don't like the blue cast so I'm trying to figure out how to off set it? The cabinets are white so I'm thinking painting them a different color will off set it enough until I either get another top or can paint it or change it somehow.
This is the new vanity (it's in the house now, brought it in from that spot all by myself!!)

And thinking about painting the cabinets this color.

The other cabinets in the room will either stay the oak color (hoping it looks good) or white if I don't end up liking the wood... or maybe something else I don't know. >_< lol
Here you can see somewhat of the room. I have before before pictures but it's icky... LOL This is after he removed the icky and replaced the floor.

Ugh leaks are super annoying and so damaging! Sorry you had to deal with that. Also really annoying that it messed up the flooring all the way down to the subfloor. That can get expensive pretty quickly.
I can see the blue cast you're talking about. There is actual specific counter top paint you can get to paint it. A cheaper method would be to use contact paper but that'll wear more easily and start to peel. I like the style and drawer pulls though, kind of modern barnyard-eque.
I really like the teal color! Very pretty. I'd wonder if it'd only bring out more of the blue in the countertop though? You could probably leave the cabinets their oak color, or not lol. The oak would bring a contrasting warmth to it and give kind of a rustic earthy vibe. All white would look good too though with a more modern/clean look. I think you have the idea though, before you go painting everything maybe do just the cabinets first then decide if you want to change anything else. Since the walls are a pretty cool neutral color there are a lot of potential options there for you.
I shuddered at the wallpaper where the vanity was lol. Not that it's awful itself or anything I just know how awful removing old wallpaper can be. Not a fun job at all. Hopefully the new vanity will just pop right in and cover up all of it so you don't have to mess with it!

I love the style of the vanity, I just hate the top color. It was the ONE color I told mom I didn't want but it was the biggest vanity they could find. It was pretty cheap compared to what a new one would have cost.
The vanity used to have 2 sinks, but I don't need 2 and honestly most people don't. I mean I guess if you BOTH get ready at the exact same time, and need the sink at the exact same time. That's not something likely. LOL
This vanity is close to the same size, but the other was I think 78" and this one is only 72" so I'll have to fix about 6 inches of wallpaper... probably will just try to make it smooth on the end and paint over it. LOL I do NOT want to have to remove it... at all
I have been debating changing the drawer pulls to something more vintage, like this.
Gonna wait to see what the paint job does. If the teal make the blue worse I can always go back to white or black or i dunno... I'm still debating. lmao it will be black or teal. :3 If I go with black, I'll get chrome fixings for the cabinet.
After all night of watching videos... I think I'll try using contact paper for the counter! It can be rather inexpensive so even if it only lasts for a couple years, it's all good. Heck might get sick of it by then and I can change it to something else!
So we'll see. :3
