They steal our hearts and it's good thing otherwise we'd be less prone to put up with their crap lol But then they look at at us with those sweet faces or sleep all cute like. Ah. Lovable jerks.

I hear that. Time and money especially can take a while to acquire to do all the things we'd like to do.

The kiddo and I finally found where our husky has been escaping under the fence for the last week and patched that up. He was so salty this morning when I went out into the living room lol. Giving me hard side eye.

Ugh, that's too true. Usually I already have shopping done by now for Christimas but Imma have to wait a few paychecks. I hate cutting it close like that though but unavoidable.

He was. He found another way out though apparently. Went to start my car this morning and he came running through the garage into the house when I opened the door. Derp derp.

Yeah, I'm going to have to cut back a bit this year and do mostly for the kids. I don't really have any other family that I buy for but hubs has a lot of family and we usually go visit them around Christmas and they all have kids so it's a thing but this year I've let everyone know I'm just mostly focusing on the kiddos. Oh, birthdays, how exciting. The end of the year is kind of busy for me too. I have my husbands birthday in late August, son's birthday in September, and then our anniversary in late October so by the time those are all done with I've already gifted quite a bit with Christmas right around the corner.

Yeah, he's our little escape artist. Which huskies are known for, he just likes to run. And it wouldn't be a huge issue as we live kind of in a rural area but, there is one highway near us which is my biggest worry. Also though, there's a longhorn ranch near us and he likes to go square up with the bulls like an idiot. I guess he knows he's pretty fast but still, dangerous. Not to mention that we have coyotes that run around our parts and aside from getting in a tiff with them and potentially getting rabies, I'm always worried that at night the farmers wouldn't be able to tell the difference between him and a coyote in the dark and accidentally shoot him if he's out screwing around with their cows.

How'd the surprise birthday party go?

That's good that the one just typically wont leave the yard. I've had dogs like that in the past but not these two lol. Yeah, Sir and I have talks about how it's for his own good and he makes me worry but.. not sure that he really comprehends lol. I just talk and he gets sassy and makes husky noises at me then sulks. Then Lady gets jelly b/c she thinks he's getting more attention than her phhh lol. Even though when he gets out I always praise her for being a good girl and not and then also letting us know.

Aww man, that's really sad that none of his friends showed up. I am glad to hear at least you all had fun still. But man, that does kinda suck of them.

Aww. We're currently trying to figure out what to do with our doggos over the holidays. We are going to Chicago to visit family on hubs side and it's a long trip. Like 8 hours. We have taken them with us in the past but it's just a pain honestly and stressful. Trying to find a kennel that has room but because it'll be over the holidays most places are already booked up. The ones that aren't, won't take females that haven't been spayed so, called the vet to finally get our girl fixed next week. We put it off too long anyway honestly.

Oh wow, that's really sad. Though, sounds like the night ended well enough so that good at least.

Yeah, I hate to leave them behind but ours are very annoying in the car as well and take up a lot of space. Luckily it's like only once a year that we have to take them to a kennel. In the past we've mostly used just one place and they take really good care of the doggos so that's at least a comfort there. I did finally have one place call me back. They've never been there before and it's like 30 minutes away but I'm honestly surprised any place still had room at this point.

We got Lady fixed and she's still kind of on the mend. After the anesthesia wore off she was up and trying to do all the things and I had to give her doggy hemp treats just to keep her chilled out and from overdoing it. She was really mad about the cone so we found a surgery recovery suit that is basically a doggy onsie to keep her from licking her stiches and she seems to be a lot more comfortable in that.

OHhh, holiday baking! And yes, please do let me know! I used to do all kinds of holiday baking and make up baskets for family and friends as gifts. It can get expensive anymore though and I just don't have as much time as I used to or energy/drive. I liked to make mini zucchini and/or pumpkin bread loafs, fudge, buckeyes, puppychow, cakeballs, gooeybutter cookies, snickerdoodles, chocolate and peanut clusters, so many almond bark candies lol and so on.

What are the orange slice cookies like? Don't think I've ever heard of them before but now I'm hungry lol.

Yay for holiday breaks. I think both kiddos are so ready for their breaks. I am to but we'll be traveling and away for most of it so honestly, when I get back it's not really going to feel like much of a break but, it's still not being at work so there's that lol.

Lady's been doing pretty good. It's honestly more so hard just trying to keep her calm and chill while she recovers. She's been trying to get back to playing and rough housing with Sir. She just doesn't understand that she needs to take it easy on herself. That's heartbreaking that Kelbee cried! Poor baby. I had dropped Lady off in the morning and then the hubs went to pick up later because I can't lift her by myself she's so big and I knew she'd need help getting into the car. She was very out of it while the anesthesia was still in her system. Poor baby just wandered around like she was stoned out of her mind. Just standing and staring like she didn't know what to do with herself. We got her to lay down finally and she slept it off. She's so stubborn though. I thought husky's were stubborn, they are both equally though I'd say. Sir just protests more vocally about it with his husky awoo-woos. Where as Lady just give you side eyes and sassy face.

That's great that you had most of the stuff on hand. Groceries getting expensive these days. And those orange slice cookies look so good! Baked goods are my weakness.

Aww boooo. Sorry to hear you were sick but glad you're doing better for sure!

I wasn't sick for the holidays so that's definitely a plus! We traveled though so honestly, I don't really feel like we got too much a break. And now we start to go into the busy season at work ugh.
