That would be so cool if you would get a chance to meet her! I love my friend Shelly I met her once before at c2e2 in Chicago. We had a great time. I will post pictures late Friday or Saturday!

Just got home from Madison. It's terribly windy outside so it was kind of difficult driving home. But we had a wonderful lunch in Downtown Madison and we had a great time!

Yay! That sounds lovely. I’m pain flaring so I’m chilling on the couch/bed for the weekend

Yeah, my pain levels are kind of high after struggling with the wind yesterday. And it's grey and dreary outside. I'm sorry you're hurting.

Why not found this article which is on one hand interesting but also something that seems somewhat self evident to my brain. Like yeah no shit being in pain all the time absorbs bodily resources/my willpower to do things. (basically I think someone actually listened to chronic pain patients for once and went huh spoon theory might have a biological basis) https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/06/190604131153.htm

Thanks for sharing that Star, I'll have to read it. I have fibro, rheumatoid arthritis and bulging discs in my neck and lower back. I don't know what I'd do without my pain meds . . . .

IKR?? And starting August 1, I go on Medicare, which means the cost of my prescriptions will go up. *sigh*

I didn't think people went on to medicare til they were much older than you are, Aleah.

Hey weezee, I'm going on Medicare because I'm on disability, and therefore low-income. Usually you hear people who go on it are retiring, but it's an insurance for the disabled as well

... Hang on. You're going on because you're on disability and low-income and therefore your prescriptions are going UP??? How does THAT make sense??

Oh good, so I didn't misunderstand that - I was wondering what I missed there
So ... what is medicare providing if not lower prescription cost?

I suspect medicare is providing continued insurance coverage, though not being Aleah I wouldn’t know for sure.

Yeah, I'm not being given a choice. I could only be on Medicaid for 2 1/2 years, now Medicare kicks in, whether I like it or not.

Yeah, health insurance eligibility is an unfortunate confusing mess of rules which I do not look forward to actually having to deal with in the future. For now I'm still covered under my mom's plan (and if for some reason that fails my school will pay for me to be covered under theirs but upon graduation life is going to get messy quickly depending on my employment prospects.

Wow, that's just wrong. Cuz I looked it up... medicare is for 65+ that's why I never would have assumed you were ready for that. I'm sorry this countries health care sucks... I have no insurance so I just don't go to the dr.. it's too freaking expensive.
