WOW!!!!! They auctioned off the first row tickets. I made eye contact with people. One of the lovely chorus members smiled at me at the end during the bows as I was sobbing because I was very emotional. I started crying because it was sad and couldn't stop because it was just so good. (at least it wasn't the crucible) Our school did a production of the crucible. I started sobbing at the beginning of act two and didn't stop for the rest of the play. And if I remember correctly there were three acts.

OH finals season we fucking hate you so. Eeesh. Have a final exam on Friday, a final exam/presentation on tuesday. I was going to prep the presentation (which needs to be good because I damn near failed the midterm like seriously did badly I think it was 59 and the average was a 70 something) over thanksgiving. I got absolutely nothing done over Thanksgiving (I had a lovely time with my family and helped my grandma out with some projects she had in mind which was super fun and great and I'm glad I did it instead of working on a presentation but it still would have been better for my sanity had I worked on the presentation). Then I get something of a break for a couple weeks then we have a 48 hour long exam/problem set for what is probably my hardest class (except the prof all but promised not to fail us so maybe it's only the second hardest). don't have time for my own life right now. This semester. Next semester. Done with classes. That's going to help a lot. But my future boss is also like ooh you should start learning how to do experiments (and he's right and I'm going to do that, but also AHHHH MORE TIME SINKS) and then there's the time sink of procrastinating/stressing which it would always be better to have as productive time.........PhD (piled higher and deeper) there is way too much truth to that.

Awww, star I'm so sorry you're so stressed out. But I am glad you chose to do something with your Grandma rather than work on your presentation. Time with our families is precious. I know you'll get through all this!

My phone went for a swim today so that about summarizes Tuesday. (Once I get through the next two weeks really 11 days) I am done with half of my classes. Then one more semester like this and we're back in my element. (In undergrad I thought classes were my element. Now I really think they aren't partially because I barely have the prereqs for one of my classes and I decidedly don't have even close to the prereqs for a second and the third's professor isn't great so being as overwhelmed as I am by the other two I'm not excelling in there either because I don't have any time)

I don't know. My phone is safely in one of my lovely Boss's dessicators where it is going to stay until at least Friday, Maybe even Monday. Most of the damage to electronics comes not from the water but from the water forming connections that shouldn't exist/short circuiting so I fished it out and turned it immediately off. Once I'm sure it's dry it will go back on and hopefully work. In my favor it was clean water, and was unsubmerged in the time it took me to think "you have got to be fucking kidding me" and grab it and was then IMMEDIATELY turned off. The water sensor in the sim card slot isn't red so that also suggests that the case was somewhat protective (which is awesome because at least the phone didn't fill) means the core phone is likely to still work. The speakers and ports may be a different story though. Fingers crossed for me. For now I'm loving this watch (like I seriously could not function without this watch... my alarms and calendar etc were all on this phone *facepalm*)

Me too. One of my lovely friends says she has an old phone with a cracked screen I can use for a while if mine doesn't come back to life. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

My only old backup phone after being plugged in for 3 days finally hit 100% battery. I don't think that one's particularly viable (though it has been a suitable alarm clock for a few days). I'm having focus issues. If I can finish this powerpoint tonight I can use it to write the paper tomorrow and then call it a day. I'm banking on the fact that the paper can be a bit later than the powerpoint. The online due date did say midnight. But I also think he said 5 pm in class. So idk what to do with that information. At this point I'm hoping for a B but would honestly be fine with a C. It'd put me on academic probation but it's also probably what I deserve in this class so we shall see how it all plays out.
The line in this song about sitting in the computer lab cursing the world because I didn't start sooner resonates right now okay https://youtu.be/ut6YtMXjaZY

I got a final paper/ppt done. Which is honestly better than it was looking like I was going to be able to pull off this weekend so I'll take it. It might have been better but I managed to mess up one of my student's solutions today so instead of writing I got to remake her solutions and help her finish the experiment still within the lab period. If we didn't grade them on accuracy I could have just let it go but it wouldn't have been fair for her to suffer because of my mistake. So we got to redo the experiment. yay. at least we caught it early enough to start over and get it done.

I just need to "finish" this question and then for better or for worse (hopefully for better better being in this case B or above) I am done with this semester's classes.

Professor of one of the sad difficult classes said I was passing by graduate student standards (better than a B). I didn't actually manage to ask what that translated into in terms of GPA contribution but as long as it's a 3 or better life is great. I went to the department holiday party which was lovely and calm. I wasn't going to go because I was scared of the refreezing roads and then dying on the way home but a couple of my coworkers were going and they talked me into going and I'm glad they did because it was fun and driving on some very slightly icy roads and doing so slowly and carefully as one should on icy roads made me feel a little less terrified of the possibility of ice (of course not driving is still the best option but the reality is that at some point in my life I will probably skid my car and having taken some time to really contemplate what one should do in that situation and also ways to hopefully permanently avoid said situation is good). As it turns out steer into the skid means the opposite of what it sounded like to me and in fact one should do what always seemed logical but (from my perspective) steer into the skid seemed to imply the opposite of. (this is one of the problems with being an overly analytical person, sometimes things which just make sense to you people end up confusing you about in their attempts to make things intuitive to everyone else). But it was a lovely party, I'm glad I went, I'm home safe. Many good things today.
Also I have started watching the ministry of time on netflix and it is so amazing. It's a time travel/sci fi like thing and I love it so much. (to be entirely fair I love a lot of sci fi/fantasy whether it's any good or not but this one is actually good) Sometimes I love things that are just so truly bad one has to love them.
