wouldn't surprise me - I've been doing this a while, and i tell everyone about the word graveyard. they're your words you wrote during nano, keep 'em!

I can't/won't join anymore sites right now, I have a lot going on in the background.
We had a blizzard roll through here, 32 inches of snow. I had to shovel out and run people to the voting booths today.
My cat is dieing too. She is old. Yesterday she had a seizure or something and somehow managed to get on my bed. I thought for sure she would pass during the night so I let her have the bed and I tried to sleep in a chair. (Super long story involving blood poisoning so will pass on it right now)
I was trying to reach 10000 words today. That's my goal but I needed a little break.
I got past a huge wall in the story today so I am very pleased about that.

And I got to see the coolest thing at the voting place. Instead of sand and gravel they spread grass seeds on the walkways for people to be safe with so they wouldn't fall on the ice. A couple of ravens showed up and were happily munching away. I thought wow that should be in a story somewhere. (Seriously someone please use it!)

I managed a lot more words yesterday than I thought I would, so I'm definitely tempted to go for 10k today. We'll see how well the words flow

Hum. There used to be an embeddable progress bar offered by the nano website (so you could put it into a forum signature, for instance), but I cannot find it - did they remove that option entirely?

I haven't seen them around.. Perhaps they were murdered when they redesigned the site?

Edit: After a bit of active searching, I definitely can't find them. I turned up a "widget" part of the NaNo site, but that was completely empty. Not exactly a good sign.

They could still be working on the widgets.

I think they did the site re-design a few years ago. That's a long time for "still working on it"

Granted. " was giving them the benefit of the doubt. There might be something mentioned on the forms there.

Do you remember (In that other place that shall remain nameless) that someone once did artwork that was a progress generator?
I got a star thing from them one time. It took me months to reach my goal.
I always thought those were very cool.

I just passed the 10k line myself! Writing was quite a struggle today, so I am extra satisfied at having managed to hit that goal Much credit to my sprints with Luci, they keep me on track!

wow giggler, you have a lot going on. and i know what it's like to worry like that about a cat, i was like that at the end of February with my cat Max (he was alllllmost 18!). he's now at the rainbow bridge with our other kitties we had. now we have Blackie (15), Rocky (3 year old floof), who we got in April, and two kittens, Ash and Oreo (they're 7-1/2 months old!)

but, as been said above, the old site used to have the various word count widgets, and then they got skipped over when they did the site redesign during the summer of 2019, in time for everything to break in November 2019 now i just have a line of text with my word count. *sigh*

i also remember the pencils for the avis! i liked those.
