I did get to bury an easter egg in my writing, a nod to Robert Heinlein... I love to give nods to great Sci-fi writers of the past. So I was pleased with myself over that one.

whoops.

i use google docs, so when i get my word count, i copy if from docs and paste it in to the nano word counter.

is it just me, or does anyone miss the nano word count validator they used to have?

I was searching for it when I started this year, yes ... ended up installing a word count tool for my browser.

yeah, i looked for it last year and didn't find it. i finally saw on the forums i think it was, that you just used the word count from whatever app/program you use. huh.

20k crossed! I actually only wanted to get that badge out of my sight that asks you to update your word count at least twice a day (I usually just update when I am finished for the day), so I thought to write a bunch more and update again, but ended up with over 1k. Then I saw I am a few hundred away from 20k, so I had to do it

I miss a lot from the old NaNo site, but I kinda like how you can swirl the cover around to read the text

My goal for today was to write enough to guarantee that I'd make 20k tomorrow, but it didn't quite work out like that. When I thought I was done writing for the day, and checked my count, I needed less than 500 words to hit 20k. That was so close, I had to try getting some more words down on the page after all, even though I was very ready for a break. I did it though, new milestone achieved!

congrats everyone! i'm close also - i have 17810 words of floof. it should be a nice, sleekly worded story, but it's 98% floof!

Well, this time I made SURE I entered the right amount: 3366 words. And that "Total count" was selected.
But still it now displays "3730 total words" to me?! Just so that next time my count can go down again? That is ... not encouraging.

I wonder what happens if I hit that button to delete that datapoint. How screwy is this site that they had over a year of time to debug?

edit: Aha. That did the trick. What are they doing with all these donations they raised if not MAKE IT ALL WORK?

edit edit: Well, huh. I'm about 1 quarter into the story, with less than 10% of the required words. I'll have to think of additional stories to write down, at this rate.

It was a long long week for me but I am hoping (Now that my weekend started) to cross 25k... Although i am almost positive I won't I shall give it a shot.

I have to let it sit now though... I went through a floof (Loving the new word Trystan!) patch of my own today. 2 adults and 2 teens in the room, what else are they going to talk about but toilet humor? Can a person fart when they only have water in their system? Does water create gas?
What can I say, I had a moment.

he's oh so very soft, but most of it is... fur. and floof. he looks bigger than he is - when we got him in April, the shelter said he was 10 pounds, but it's all fluff.
and that's my writing. it's all fluff.
