Because I mostly use it to sanitize. It doesn't do the best job cleaning. I despise pulling a "clean" dish out of the dishwasher with food stuck on it. If I'm going to wash it in order for the dishwasher to do a good job, I might as well go ahead, do it right, and not waste the time on the dishwasher. I'm weird about things that come into contact with raw meat though. It goes into the dishwasher for extra sanitizing.

I mean that's fair. Have you cleaned out the filter? Any time I've come across a dishwasher that is leaving particles, it's usually because the filter is clogged.
