TY TY! LOL NGL I kinda forgot about this place (oops!)

LOL Only because I am very much an "out of sight, out of mind" person, and any time I take a break from the internet, there's always *something* that I forget to go back to LOL

Yeah I think so. I've had a couple internet breaks over the last year, mostly mental health breaks.

Tho I also had two and a half weeks without internet in December because first my one roomie used up all our bandwidth, then I moved and had to wait to get my net hooked up. Now I have my own apartment, no roommates, and I love it so much! 33yo and first time living totally alone LOL

My biggest issue with living alone is uh, cleanliness. It's easier to force myself to come up with the spoons to do dishes and such when I have roomies pestering me than when it's just me. But I have a friend who works on the opposite end of the block, so on Thursdays I need up with her when she gets off work, so I get out at least once a week. Plus I live downtown so everything is within walking distance for me.

The best thing about living alone tho is that I can be OCD as hell and not piss people off LOL You wouldn't ever guess it looking at my apartment, but things have to be in a particular way. The glasses in the cupboard have to be lined up in rows, that kinda thing. When I had roommates that just... didn't happen. I'd organize a cupboard and 2 days later it was in complete disarray. Also lights! I'm super anal about turning lights off, and every single roommate I've had has had a terrible habit of leaving them on. Same with putting the toilet lid down. Little things like that. It's surprising how much it can contribute to your overall stress levels.

I do miss hanging out with my roomies. I've had two that have become great friends and I would love to live with them again. Also cats. They both have cats and I miss them horribly. The place I'm in now doesn't allow pets other than fish (which really, what's the point of fish? Get you an aquarium screensaver and it's the same thing) so I'm definitely missing the kitties.

cleaner based on vinegar could help, although it'll smell awful the first couple of hours, until it dries off

Cats are weird like that LOL Luckily I've never had a cat quite that picky about things. One of my friends, any time she moves, her cat pees on her bed. After the first couple weeks of moving, everything's fine. No peeing. It's just when she moves. I think the cat gets insecure.

I just bought myself a dishwasher! I am Excite!

LOL Yeah, I'm very excited. It'll be a couple weeks before it arrives, but I'm so excited for it. It's been ages since I've had a dishwasher, and I have low spoons at the best of times, so keeping up with cleaning is v difficult
