well that's frustrating.
i watched Good Omens, and i really ought to re-read the book (I'm pretty sure i read it at some point)..... but like everything else i watch and read, it doesn't always stay stuck. some things stick, like Supernatural when i was writing fic. or Dune sticks, but i never had the desire to write fic. everything else sticks while I'm watching or reading...... and then it unsticks.

Yeah...Doctor Who and Kingdom Hearts were the only things that stuck stuck for many years, and now Good Omens has joined them, though I don't know for how long.

yeah, i get that. i've had in turn: Forever Knight, First Wave, Supernatural, and Tin Man. and a few one-offs and crossovers. it's still up at my fic journal, https://trys-writer.livejournal.com (yes, i still have an LJ) the first post is an index of everything.

Guess what: for once in my entire fucking LIFE, someone other than my spouse has actually asked me directly what accommodations I need. My last job's idea of ADA accommodations was "what do you as an individual need to do to be less autistic around other people". My parents didn't even ask what *they* could do.

oh wow! {{hugs}}
i mean, that's great that people are paying attention. i can't help but think people should have been paying attention all along though.

It genuinely feels so fucking weird to have people actually ask what THEY can do to help ME be more comfortable. Like...this isn't the way it's worked before, ever.

This sounds like a great place to work.

It's not. Trust me, it's really not. But the fact that they're willing to actually go out of their way to accommodate me rather than forcing me to do it the other way around makes it a lot more tolerable than it could otherwise be.

i'd give them points for trying

Hello Everyone. I hope you're having a great week. It's been crazy busy here, which means the days go by too fast for me to do my usual check-in.

*hugs* and *kisses* to everyone!

My "favorite" supervisor decided to work late today, and remind me repeatedly what I hate most about this job (hint: it's him).

Is it bad of me to have laughed at that?

They made my son a supervisor at his shop and I'm sure the work crew thinks the same. They make circuit boards and the operators kept changing the routing programs, so he took their authorization away and made them come to him if they wanted to make changes. The upside is, less boards thrown away, so his manager is happy.

And now the friends we were going to live with starting in November - the friends we've been planning on moving in with since March, and also the friends we've been helping move for at least a month now - have suddenly decided "oops, the house isn't big enough, you can't move in after all".

And now they're vaguing at us on Facebook because apparently not being immediately chill with "yeah, we're going to throw the entire last seven months out the window and deny you the housing you've been counting on all this time" is a horrible boundary violation.
