Hello Bee! Lovely to meet a fellow book lover!

I'm starting to feel out of the look... I haven't read those books! (Well, except Harry Potter, of course. No self-respecting witch wouldn't!) My "to read" list just keeps growing and growing...

I feel your pain with shelves though. I only just got two bookshelves in my room, and they still don't hold all the books I own. The ones I couldn't put out are still hiding in boxes. :'(

Does Harry Potter fanfiction count as reading Harry Potter? I couldn't get into the books.

Of course! I'm addicted to fanfiction myself, so it would be hypocritical of me to say otherwise. xD

I'll share a secret with you guys: I've never actually "read" the HP books.

I listened to the audio book on cassette when each book came out. It was something mom and I did together. She got me the complete set for christmas 2 or 3 years ago, but I still haven't read them.

Like I said... I'm a big chicken! Not all supernatural stuff scares me, it really depends on the delivery though.

I am addicted to stuff like Harry Potter, Anne McCaffrey, LOTR and The Chronicles of Narnia. Nowadays I don't read as much as I used to, I don't seem to have the attention span for it.

I've never read any Harry Potter either

I don't read much because of lack of time.

I like Redwall (by Brian Jacques) and the Warrior Cats (by Erin Hunter group) series a lot.
Redwall books were pretty repetitive but I think that's part of what makes it nice--like a bedtime story or something.
I red Warrior Cats way out of order so I don't remember it too well, or at least some plot-lines haven't stuck with me.

Varda; those are all great classics! Welcome! It's a shame, but I don't read much anymore either. It becomes a rare privilege when we get older I find.

Spiderlily; Redwall was good. I didn't read much of it but I remember liking it as a kid.

Speaking of Pottermore, did anyone take the new (well, new-ish) patronus quizz?

I got a marsh harrier (which I, after I googling it, learned is a kind of bird of prey who looks majestic from the side but completely lost from the front).

Edit: Also forgot to mention the Ilvermorny quizz (I got Pukwudgie).

Ooo, that's a neat sounding bird! I want to take the test soooo bad, but I cannot for the life of me remember my log in info for pottermore. Which makes me sad because I have no idea what my patronus could even possibly be, and I think it would be super cool to know.

the only reason i have read so much is that i have a required bedtime b/c suicide watch. xD so i have to be upstairs at 12 but i dont go to sleep then and all i can do is read sooo some nights i read for hours lol sometimes ill read like three books in a week its stupid

Thank you for all your support Vee! It's the best feeling to know someone will read what I've written for sure. I mean, even though I want to make a living off of my books, that's only so I can live my dream of writing my whole life instead of working, and that would be the only way to be financially stable while I do that. My real goal with my writing, other than the fact that I adore the process, is to have at least one person, just one person, who gets so absorbed in the tale that it transports them while they read it. Books have been an obsessive haven for me my whole life, and if I can provide that for even one person, sharing my writing will be worth while.

ill be that person bae. i get super into books and im already sure ill love yours. maybe im biased, but im not a huge critic anyways and i enjoy all fantasy/adventure type books. well even other categories than that. but yea im a book punk P:

In summer time I can read a whole book--nah, I'll always read a whole book--in a day without stopping. But when there's school I can't focus on anything.

(ive taken the sorting quiz twice truthfully with different results - hufflepuff and ravenclaw)

I'm a hufflepuff, but only by like 2% more than my ravenclaw-ness, haha! Also my patronus is apparently a Marsh Harrier as well... which I'm kind of disapointed with? I've never cared for birds much so as cool as it is it doesn't actually feel like it suits me.

but yeah i think in the past i much more aligned with ravenclaw but now im closer to hufflepuff. either way i have qualities of both. and i dont think im totally a hufflepuff cause they are hard working and i am certainly not

I know what you mean. While I've kind of chosen to be hufflepuff, there are certain days of the year I feel much more ravenclaw. It's hard to be split between two houses. I love that the lore allows your choice to be taken into account though!

Oooooh Harry Potter talk! I happen to be watching the last movie now lol

I'm a Hufflepuff, for certain! I also took the patronus quiz, but I wasn't a huge fan of it. There's a fan-made one that gives you all of the questions in the quiz (rather than a selection of questions like in the official quiz) and it gave me what felt like a much more fitting answer. Pottermore gave me a weasel I believe, which I didn't relate to at all, while the quiz with every question gave me a unicorn which is much more my style
