Sweet! I used something similar to make the top for the big fashion doll that lives here.
I am Groot.
*big hug of sympathy and understanding* I've learned to hate some places I usually love because of glowing mothers day sermons, or discussions about what people admired about their mothers. I did get a real mother late in life, but she died only a few years after I met her... dementia. And I have no idea where any of the children that I helped raise are. Sometimes I go buy myself a goodie! If I weren't on limited funding due to moving, I'd send you something. Instead, I'll send virtual hugs!

I remember those days. And yes, Trystan is right, they grow out of it. Just remember to set boundaries and keep to them.

Tam - actually, yes. i make short row heels, where you go from (in my case) 24 stitches down to 12, and then increase and shape back up to 24 stitches to make the heel. and i finally figured out the best way to do it! *woot!*

Having another one of those lovely "why am I alive" moments. Mother's Day is next week. Considering what happened on my last birthday (jack shit), I'm fully expecting it to be completely forgotten. Shockingly, I feel like shit as a result, but I don't dare talk to anyone about it because either I'm being horribly unfair or setting them up for a massive guilt trip.

@trystan , the usual method for accommodating doll bosoms seems to be shell stitches, but I like this way better.

trystan
well that's interesting.
and yeah, sometimes you find a better way to do something

So Mother's Day has been about like I expected, except for my husband actually knowing what day it was and using the knowledge to browbeat the Widget into doing as he was told.

That isn't a very nice Mother's Day. I wish you had as good a day as I did. We got good bread and pastries the day before and spent a relaxing and quiet day at home, instead of fighting the crowds for brunch.

trystan
oof, Demyx. nice that the husband remembered the day, notsomuch that the Widget was forced into doing what he was told though.
we had breakfast with my MIL, hubby, and two daughters.
i made dinner for my mom, and hubby and younger daughter was there too (as older daughter was at work - the show closed, and they were striking the set)
younger daughter got me a bag of little 3 Musketeers candy bars, and gave them to me in an R2 gift bag. *hee*

Widget is habitually disobedient. In this case, he was demanding to pick the restaurant we went to for dinner when picking up Little Caesar's was already stretching the budget something terrible.
Anyway, I'm off work on medical leave for the next two weeks.

Demyx ... how old is the Widget? yeah, it's a kid thing to be demanding about things, but some ages are more.... independent than others sometimes.
and i get stretching the budget. our cards are already stretched. {{hugs}}
hope your medical leave is restorative!

*hugs for everyone*
I wore black on Mothers Day, in memory of the beautiful woman not related by blood who taught me to be a human being.
Then I got depressed about something else, to the point that my verbal skills were failing, and spent most of today sleeping. o_O

Hope your time off Demyx works for the best. "Medical leave" sounds serious, so hopefully it isn't as bad as it sounds.

trystan
yeah, 6 is testing and pushing boundaries. and pouting. and "you don't love me" just cause you said "no" to something he really wanted to do.
it does get easier - my daughters will be 21 (in June) and 25 (in August). yikes.

And just because I wasn't having enough fun lately, we were all going to go to a food truck festival in town this afternoon. Guess who came down with a Godawful case of food poisoning last night.

trystan
oh yikes {{hugs Demyx}}

Widget, of course, cannot handle that Mommy does not feel good and Daddy was up half the night just in case it turned into a hospital trip. He Wants What He Wants.

oof. i'm sorry, Demyx {{hugs}}
